My client provides a variety of packaging and product solutions for retailers, from graphic markers to water bottles, plates, bakeware and pots and pans, pasta machines and macrame hangers, kids crafts and pet products, picnic blankets, planters, garden tools and ornaments and a million and one other things. They are seeking a highly creative and passionate freelance designer to complement the existing team.

About the Role

You will work closely with the team Manager and Account Managers who have long and successful track records of delivering results. They are truly passionate about what they do and are experts at spotting commercial opportunities to support their customers’ success.

About You

You will need a great design eye and in-depth knowledge of packaging, products and global retail trends and most importantly you will be an expert on the Australian consumers, the market and product trends.

• You have a calm and customer service focused approach with at least 5+ years directly relevant experience.
• A strong creative eye and design capability. Your attention to detail is excellent.
• You understand retail and can spot trends, love great products and have done some beautiful work. Experience in at least some of our categories is essential.
• You might be on the quieter side, or louder, or somewhere in the middle, but what-ever your style, you are a proactive and highly effective communicator at all levels, with a solid track record of good judgment and decision making.
• You will have solid experience with customers who are large supermarket chains, Big Box retailers, discounters or cut price stores.
• You are passionate about using tools to improve productivity, whilst maintaining quality. Proficiency using Adobe Creative Cloud and MS Office, Claude and or Chat GPT.
• You are mature, faultlessly reliable, have a strong work ethic and a “can-do”, “cup half full” attitude and can turn out work at a steady pace.
• A degree in Graphic or Product design is essential.
