Job Description
New Business Coordinator (Promotional Products)
Remote or Maine-based · $40,000–$50,000 base + commission Realistic first-year earnings: $60K–$70K · Year-two potential: $115K–$125K
Most entry-level sales jobs hand you a phone, a script, and a quota — then wish you luck. This isn’t that.
emblm is a women-owned promotional products company based in Maine. We’re hiring someone hungry to start by building pipeline and grow into closing their own deals. You’ll work from anywhere, partner directly with our founder, and get hands-on coaching from day one.
If you like the chase, love making clients look good, and want your paycheck to reflect your effort — keep reading.
Remote, but never on your own
- You’ll learn from the founder — not a manager three levels removed. You’ll have direct access to the owner who built this business, and she’s invested in your success.
- You’ll have a coach in your corner. From day one, you’ll be onboarded and coached by an experienced sales coach, with a clear 90-day plan, regular one-on-ones, and real feedback on your calls, outreach, and deals.
- You’ll join a team that wins together. We’re a small, all-women team that moves fast, supports each other, and celebrates the wins.
- Your income grows with you. Your pipeline is yours to build — and so is your paycheck. Year-two earnings of $115K+ are within reach as your book grows.
- You can stay and grow. This isn’t a stepping-stone job. If you want a long-term home where your role and income grow over time, it’s here.
Your path: learn it, then own it
Months 1–12 — Open doors. You’ll build pipeline from the ground up: prospecting new businesses through LinkedIn, phone, email, and in person; starting real conversations; and booking meetings for our experienced reps. You’ll sit in on those meetings and see how deals get done, from first call to final order.
Then — Close your own business. Once you’ve shown you’re ready (usually within 6 to 12 months), you’ll step into running your own deals. You’ll consult with clients on their events and campaigns, source the right products from our vendor network, and build a book of business that’s yours.
Day to day, you’ll:
- Research and reach out to new prospects through LinkedIn, calls, and email
- Get out and visit local businesses in your area to open new doors
- Book qualified meetings for the sales team
- Join client meetings to learn how we consult, present, and close
- Track your activity and pipeline in our CRM
- Learn our products, vendors, and pricing so you’re ready to sell on your own
What we’re looking for
This role is for a hunter. If you want leads handed to you, this isn’t the job. If you get a rush from finding new business yourself, read on.
Must-haves:
- A real desire to hunt new business through cold calls, cold emails, LinkedIn outreach, and in-person visits
- Comfort hearing “no” and picking up the phone again without missing a beat
- A competitive drive — you want to earn more when you work harder
- Coachability and a genuine appetite for feedback so you can improve fast
- Clear, confident writing (much of your outreach lives on LinkedIn and email)
- The self-discipline to thrive working remotely
Nice to have:
- 0–2 years in sales, customer service, hospitality, recruiting, or any role where you talked to people all day
- Any cold calling or outbound prospecting experience
- Experience with a CRM like HubSpot or Salesforce
- An eye for branding, design, or events
No promotional products experience needed — we’ll teach you everything.
