Job Description

Junior / Graduate Software Engineer

Kick-start your career building AI that businesses actually rely on.

About Bombe

Bombe is the audience insight and targeting platform that predicts revenue and behaviour to at least 90% accuracy. Rather than buying third party data, we build our own models, drawing on proprietary polling data, wider data sources and our clients’ own sales data, to work out exactly what drives consumer behaviour. Our platform is independently proven to increase sales by 60%.

We are trusted by organisations including Camden Market, the National Education Union and a growing roster of challenger brands, and our work has featured in the BBC, The Guardian and Politico. Backed by Deltapoll, one of Britain’s leading polling companies, we combine the stability of an established business with the pace and ambition of a growing technology company.

The role

As a Junior Developer you will join our Engineering & Data Science team and help build the platform that powers Bombe’s predictions, from the customer facing app, to the AI agent that lets clients build models and interrogate their data in plain language.

This is a hands-on role designed for a recent graduate or early career developer who has a strong academic grounding in AI, together with some practical coding experience, and who wants to grow quickly in a commercial environment. You will be mentored by senior engineers and data scientists, and your work will ship to real customers.

Key responsibilities

  • Creating APIs, Integrations and Client Facing front end applications
  • Contribute to full-stack development of the Bombe app, including features that surface predictions, interactive maps and automated reporting.
  • Help build and refine the AI agent that allows clients to build models and query their data.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to turn models into reliable, production ready features.
  • Take part in code reviews, testing and deployment through our CI/CD pipelines.
  • Learn and apply engineering best practice in a cloud environment (Google Cloud Platform).

About youEssential

  • A degree (or equivalent) in computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning or a closely related field or equivalent experience.
  • Foundational programming experience in Python.
  • A genuine understanding of core AI or / and ML concepts, gained through study or projects.
  • Some practical development experience, academic projects, internships, placements or personal projects all count.
  • Strong problem solving instincts, attention to detail and an eagerness to learn.
  • The right to work in the UK and the ability to attend our London office on a hybrid basis.

Desirable

  • Exposure to full stack web development (JavaScript / TypeScript, React / Next.js or similar).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS or Azure), Git, or databases (PSQL / MongoDB).
  • Experience with data science libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • An interest in large language models (LLMs) and AI agents.
  • Experience with ML

What we offer

  • Competitive salary.
  • Hybrid working from our London base.
  • Direct mentorship from senior engineers and data scientists.
  • Real ownership and the chance to ship to customers from day one.
  • Rapid learning in commercial AI and data engineering.
