C++ Developer

Location: New York, NY (Onsite). Relocation support available for the right candidate.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior C++ Engineer with deep expertise in modern C++ to design, build, and optimize high-performance systems where speed, reliability, and efficiency matter. You will work on performance-critical software and own components end to end, from architecture and implementation through profiling, tuning, and production support.

This is an onsite role based in our New York office. You will work closely with a small team of senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, low-latency systems in modern C++ (C++17/20)
• Write clean, efficient, well-tested code with a focus on performance, correctness, and maintainability
• Profile and optimize CPU, memory, cache, and I/O performance across critical code paths
• Build and improve multithreaded and concurrent systems using lock-free and wait-free techniques where appropriate
• Make architectural decisions about trade-offs between latency, throughput, and resource usage
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues in performance-sensitive environments
• Take part in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices
• Work with cross-functional teams to turn business and technical requirements into robust solutions

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science from a top US university
• Several years of professional experience building production systems in C++
• Deep knowledge of modern C++ (C++17/20), including move semantics, templates and metaprogramming, RAII, smart pointers, constexpr, and the STL
• Proven experience building high-performance systems such as low-latency, high-throughput, or real-time applications
• Strong understanding of computer architecture, including CPU caches, memory layout, branch prediction, and SIMD
• Solid experience with multithreading, concurrency, synchronization primitives, and memory models
• Hands-on experience with profiling and performance tools such as perf, VTune, Valgrind, or gprof
• Strong background in data structures, algorithms, and systems design
• Proficiency in Linux development environments
• Based in New York or willing to relocate and work onsite in New York

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in trading, fintech, market data, or other latency-sensitive domains
• Knowledge of networking internals (TCP/UDP, multicast, kernel bypass such as DPDK or Solarflare/OpenOnload)
• Familiarity with C++23 features and evolving language standards
• Experience with build systems and tooling such as CMake, Bazel, sanitizers, and static analysis
• Working knowledge of Python for scripting, testing, or tooling
• Contributions to open-source C++ projects or performance-focused libraries
