I’m working with a major New York-based organisation looking to hire an Applied AI Engineer to join its growing technology and AI function.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building and deploying production-grade AI solutions that solve real business problems. You’ll work closely with engineering, data and business teams to take AI initiatives from concept through to production.

The role

• Design, build and deploy production-ready AI and machine learning applications
• Develop solutions using LLMs, generative AI and modern AI frameworks
• Build scalable APIs, services and data pipelines supporting AI products
• Work with structured and unstructured datasets
• Integrate AI capabilities into existing platforms and business workflows
• Evaluate model performance, reliability and business impact
• Collaborate with software engineers, data teams and stakeholders
• Help establish best practices around applied AI engineering and deployment

What we’re looking for

• Strong software engineering background, ideally Python
• Commercial experience building AI/ML solutions
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI and LLM-based applications
• Experience taking AI solutions beyond prototypes into production
• Strong understanding of APIs, cloud environments and modern development practices
• Experience with areas such as RAG, embeddings, vector databases or AI agents would be advantageous
• Ability to work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
