SAS AML Developer

Job Description: Stratacent is looking for SAS AML Developer who will be responsible for the design, development, enhancement, testing, deployment, and optimization of transaction monitoring scenarios within the SAS Anti-Money Laundering (AML) platform. The role supports regulatory compliance initiatives by maintaining effective detection capabilities while minimizing false positives and improving investigative efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain AML transaction monitoring scenarios.
• Enhance existing scenarios to address emerging financial crime risks.
• Implement new detection strategies based on regulatory, business, and compliance requirements.
• Configure scenario parameters, thresholds, lookback periods, and alert criteria.
• Support customer segmentation and risk-based monitoring approaches.
• Analyse alert volumes and false-positive rates.
• Perform threshold calibration and scenario tuning.
• Support alert suppression and prioritization initiatives.
• Develop risk scoring methodologies supporting alert prioritization.
• Develop monitoring logic for: Structuring, Rapid movement of funds, High-risk geography activity, Funnel accounts, Velocity monitoring, large wire transfers, Dormant account activity, Trade-based money laundering, Behavioural anomaly detection
• Configure SAS AML 7.2 transaction monitoring components.
• Support alert generation workflows.
• Troubleshoot production scenario failures.
• Support release deployments and scenario migrations.
• Participate in defect resolution and root cause analysis.
• Develop test cases and validation plans.
• Execute UAT and production verification activities.
• Validate scenario performance and expected alert outcomes.
• Support model validation and regulatory reviews.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent is required.
• Linux and Oracle Database understanding is required which is the platform for the SAS application.
