Junior Full Stack Developer (Java / React) – Hybrid (San Francisco, CA)

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated, local Junior Full Stack Developer for an exciting, long-term contract opportunity with our direct client located in San Francisco, CA.

This position operates on a flexible Hybrid schedule, requiring only one (1) day per week onsite at our downtown San Francisco office, with the remaining four days working fully remote. This is an associate-level engineering role perfect for someone looking to scale their enterprise software development skills within a collaborative, fast-paced Agile framework.

Position Details:

• Job Type: Contract (W2 Only)
• Location: Hybrid – San Francisco, CA (Must be local to the Bay Area)
• Work Schedule: 1 Day Onsite / 4 Days Remote per week

Key Responsibilities

• Full Stack Development: Support the design, development, and maintenance of modern web applications utilizing React on the front-end and Java / Spring Boot on the back-end.
• E-commerce Optimization: Assist in optimizing digital platforms for speed, reliability, and enterprise scalability across web, mobile, and in-store ecosystems.
• API & Backend Support: Help build and manage secure microservices and APIs. Gain hands-on exposure to Kafka architecture and standard data formats (JSON, XML).
• System Security: Implement web application security best practices, including OAuth2 and JWT authentication protocols.
• Agile Collaboration: Participate actively in daily SCRUM meetings and sprints, collaborating closely with onsite and remote DevOps, SRE, and Product teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Geographic Requirement: Must reside within a commutable distance to San Francisco, CA, and be able to work onsite 1 day per week.
• Core Technical Stack: Proven academic or professional proficiency in Java, JavaScript, and React.
• Frameworks & Architecture: Foundational understanding of microservices architecture and working with structured data formats (JSON/XML).
• Cloud & Tools Exposure: Familiarity or hands-on project experience with Cloud Platforms (AWS, GCP, or OCI) alongside CI/CD deployment pipelines.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
• Experience Level: Ideal for Junior/Associate developers with foundational internship, bootcamp, or 1–3 years of hands-on application development experience (E-commerce environment exposure is a plus).

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
