Google Cloud AI Engineer

About the Role

Cogniify is hiring a Google Cloud AI Engineer to build and deploy production Generative AI applications, AI agents and machine learning solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

You will work with Vertex AI, Python and BigQuery to develop applications that connect securely to enterprise data and solve practical business problems. This is a hands-on engineering role with ownership from solution design through deployment, evaluation and production support.

What You Will Do

• Build and deploy AI agents using Vertex AI Agent Builder and Google’s Agent Development Kit (ADK), including multi-agent workflows.
• Develop retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), grounding, embeddings and vector search workflows using business data.
• Integrate AI applications with BigQuery and enterprise databases through secure APIs and tools, including Model Context Protocol (MCP) where appropriate.
• Develop Python services and write advanced BigQuery SQL for data preparation, feature engineering and AI applications.
• Train, evaluate and deploy machine learning models on Vertex AI, including production serving through Vertex AI endpoints.
• Use Google Cloud Storage and, where needed, Dataflow or Apache Beam to support data pipelines and real-time inference.
• Evaluate AI output quality, monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues.
• Implement access controls and protect sensitive data, including personally identifiable information (PII).
• Work with stakeholders to understand requirements, explain technical decisions and deliver reliable solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and deploying Generative AI, agentic AI, RAG or machine learning applications on Google Cloud Platform.
• Practical experience with Vertex AI, including model deployment, evaluation, pipelines or Agent Builder.
• Strong Python programming and advanced SQL skills.
• Direct experience using BigQuery and Google Cloud Storage.
• Experience deploying and supporting models through Vertex AI endpoints.
• Ability to integrate AI applications with enterprise data using secure APIs and appropriate access controls.
• Experience taking solutions from development into production and resolving deployment or application issues.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work with technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Google ADK and multi-agent orchestration.
• Familiarity with MCP or MCP Toolbox for Databases.
• Experience with BigQuery vector search, Spanner or AlloyDB.
• Experience with Dataflow or Apache Beam for streaming pipelines and real-time inference.
• Experience delivering AI or data solutions in financial services or retail.
• Familiarity with PII masking, privacy controls and sensitive-data requirements.

Pay: $112,000.00 - $124,000.00 per year
