Sr Mainframe Network Systems Programmer (IBM z/OS & TCP/IP)

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Mainframe Network Systems Programmer with strong expertise in IBM z/OS and TCP/IP environments to support and optimize enterprise mainframe network infrastructure. The role involves managing communication services, troubleshooting complex network issues through TRACE analysis, supporting secure data transmission, and contributing to infrastructure modernization and disaster recovery initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and optimize IBM Communication Server for z/OS environments to ensure reliable network communications.
• Administer and support VTAM and TCP/IP networking infrastructure across mainframe platforms.
• Analyze and resolve complex network connectivity, latency, and performance issues using TRACE diagnostics, including packet, component, and OSA traces.
• Monitor, tune, and maintain network communications to ensure system stability, availability, and performance.
• Support mainframe certificate management activities, including implementation and maintenance of secure communication configurations.
• Administer and support secure file transfer operations using Connect:Direct for automated and business-critical data exchanges.
• Participate in infrastructure upgrade projects, disaster recovery testing, and operational readiness activities.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using REXX, CLIST, or JCL to streamline routine network administration tasks.
• Create and maintain technical documentation in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical support during production incidents and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for critical business services.
