Freelance Algorithm Researcher / AI Algorithm Consultant

Role Overview

We are looking for a freelance Algorithm Researcher/AI Algorithm Consultant to support research and publication projects involving algorithm design, optimisation, machine learning, computational modelling, and data-driven methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, evaluate, and optimise algorithms for research projects.
• Review algorithmic methodologies, computational models, mathematical formulations, and pseudocode.
• Support projects involving machine learning, deep learning, optimisation, classification, prediction, and pattern recognition.
• Conduct literature reviews and identify research gaps in algorithmic approaches.
• Analyse algorithm performance using appropriate evaluation metrics.
• Review experimental results and provide technically accurate interpretation.
• Support preparation and revision of research manuscripts, technical reports, and journal papers.
• Validate equations, methodology descriptions, figures, tables, and algorithm flowcharts.
• Address technical comments from clients, editors, and peer reviewers.

Required Educational Background

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in algorithm development, AI/ML research, computational research, or a related field.
• Experience with academic research or peer-reviewed publications is preferred.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of algorithms, optimisation, computational complexity, and mathematical modelling.
• Python programming experience.
• Knowledge of machine learning/deep learning algorithms.
• Experience with NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow is preferred.
• Strong research writing and analytical skills.

Freelance Engagement

Project-based freelance engagement. The consultant should be able to independently handle assigned research, technical review, manuscript, and revision tasks within agreed timelines.
