Job Description
Senior Technical Lead – Python/AWS, Private Markets
Location: Remote, with periodic travel to Greater Philadelphia, PA
Type: Contract | 9+ months+
Compensation: $80-$95/H, depending on employment type, experience, and qualifications
We are seeking a Senior Technical Lead to help design and build technology supporting private-markets investment, valuation, and fund-operations workflows.
This is a hands-on senior engineering role for someone who can contribute production-quality code while partnering with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders. You will work on cloud-based applications, financial-data integrations, and workflow capabilities that support private assets and alternative-investment products.
The ideal candidate combines strong Python and AWS engineering experience with practical exposure to private equity, private markets, alternative investments, fund accounting, NAV, or valuation-related workflows.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and enhance cloud-based applications and services using Python and AWS
- Develop data integrations and workflows supporting financial, investment, and operational data
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate complex investment-process requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Contribute hands-on to production code, solution design, testing, implementation, and support
- Help improve controls, traceability, research workflows, reconciliation, and auditability for valuation-related processes
- Work with data received from fund administrators and other external sources
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship within a collaborative engineering team
- Explore practical applications of automation, AI, and unstructured data in financial workflows
Must-have
- Strong, hands-on Python engineering experience
- Real AWS delivery experience—not cloud exposure only
- Private equity, private markets, alternative investments, asset management, fund administration, or investment-technology experience
- Ability to design integrations, data workflows, APIs, or platforms using complex financial/investment data
- Senior technical ownership and clear communication with business stakeholders
- Able to work remotely with periodic travel to Greater Philadelphia
Preferred—not a knockout
- Direct private-asset valuation or fair-value workflow experience
- NAV oversight, fund accounting, valuation controls, reconciliation, or audit-trail experience
- Fund-administrator/custodian data integrations
- Canoe, MSCI, eFront, Allvue, iCapital, or similar private-markets platforms
- AI, unstructured-data, or workflow-automation experience
Interview Process
One virtual interview. The selected candidate must complete a client-run background check, drug test, and fingerprinting process before starting. The anticipated onboarding timeline is approximately two weeks after offer acceptance.
