What you will be doing:

Albertson’s Companies is re-imagining the grocery experience through a digital and customer experience transformation. The DAM Administrator will oversee daily and business-as-usual (BAU) administrative operations of our new digital asset management (DAM) platform. S/he will be responsible for onboarding new users; creating user accounts; updating/maintaining metadata schemas; onboarding new business units into the DAM and building folder repositories to specifications; overseeing and maintaining automated workflow queues; and reporting on system/platform usage metrics and uptime. This role will also serve as initial points-of-contact for system/platform troubleshooting and user support. The right candidate will be able to interface with different internal and external business units; able to engage & escalate to Engineering when needed; understand basic business requirements, needs, and urgency; uphold and enforce platform standards & conventions; and act as liaison to business stakeholders and librarians. This position requires prior experience managing digital asset management platforms; familiarity with managing digital media content & metadata; and a background in digital operations.

Senior Backend Software Engineer — Backend Development

Role Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines. This is a hands-on role in which the engineer owns both backend development and QA for their work. Designing and executing tests—including automation testing—is a mandatory part of the role, not a responsibility delegated to a separate QA team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain reliable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines using Python and SQL.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions, define acceptance criteria, and make design decisions for backend systems.
• Own QA for the backend functionality you develop: plan test scenarios, execute functional and integration testing, document defects, and validate fixes.
• Design, write, and maintain automated unit, integration, API, and regression tests for critical backend workflows.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, investigate test failures, and verify readiness before release.
• Review code and tests, improve system performance and reliability, and mentor junior engineers.

Required Qualifications:

• 6–9 years of software engineering experience, primarily in backend development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python, advanced SQL, API development, and backend system design.
• Hands-on backend test automation experience is mandatory, including creating and maintaining automated tests with a framework such as PyTest, Selenium, Playwright, etc.
• Experience independently performing QA for backend services, including test planning, execution, defect tracking, and release validation.
• Experience running automated tests in Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or a similar CI/CD platform.
• Ability to diagnose defects, resolve root causes, and add regression tests that prevent recurrence.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with distributed systems, database optimization, and performance or load testing.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and products involving LLMs, RAG, or AI agents.
