Senior Software Engineer

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Direct and manage the software team of Research and Development function to deliver reliable and scalable software solutions for innovative medical devices and solutions. Design, develop and implement application software solutions on Linux OS (Ubuntu / CIP Linux) on Renesas SBCs using C / C++ / Scripting for innovative medical devices.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

1. Design and implement the System Software architecture as per the requirement specifications.

2. Breaking down problems, Documenting problem statements and effort estimation.

3. Adhering to Engineering methodologies.

4. Design, develop and implement System Software on Renesas SBC on Linux OS (Ubuntu / CIP Linux).

Troubleshoot any problems, defects and issues in the application software during development.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and Development of System Software as per requirements.
• Writing clean, high-quality, high-performance, maintainable code while incorporating good design practices.
• Develop and support software including applications, hardware and sensor data integration, interfaces, and new functionality enhancements.
• Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure project meets business objectives and compliance standards.
• Support test and deployment of new products and features.
• Participate in code reviews.

REQUIREMENT PROFILE: (Qualification, No of yrs exp)

a. Bachelors / Masters degree in Computer Science / Information Science, or related engineering streams.

b. 12+ years of industry experience in concept to delivery of system software, preferably on Single Board Computers running on Linux OS.

Minimum 5+ years of experience in software architecture - emphasis on implementation experience in complex electromechanical medical devices.

COMPETENCIES: (knowledge, skills and attitudes required to perform job):

• Skills: Linux (Must), Ubuntu (highly desirable) , Yocto / Poky Distributions (nice to have), C++ / C (Must), LVGL/Wayland (desirable) Multi-threaded applications / IPC Design & Development (Desirable).
• Experience in Linux Development & Deployment Environment; Development & Deployment on SBCs such as Renesas RZ boards.
• Experience on C++, Linux (Ubuntu 20.04 LTS), Python / MicroPython.
• ARM MPU & MCU Programming, CAN Communication.
• RZV2L, DRP, DRP-AI, OpenCV, OpenCVAccelerator, OpenAMP.
• Any Renesas experience.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field).
• Experience with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies.
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work.

Desired:

a. Experience in interfacing with HIS / LIS / EMR

b. Knowledge of secure software development lifecycle and practices such as threat modeling, security reviews, penetration tests.

Exposure to implementation of algorithms in software and verifying them.
