Job Description
Fractal is a strategic AI partner to Fortune 500 companies, with a bold vision: to power every human decision in the enterprise. We believe the future belongs to organizations that combine human imagination with intelligent systems and Fractalites are the ones building that future.
Fractal’s Healthcare & Life Sciences practice supports leading payers, providers, and pharmaceutical organizations. We design, build, and scale production-grade AI, advanced analytics, and GenAI solutions across claims, care management, population health, value-based care, clinical operations, patient and member engagement, commercial, R&D, supply chain, and enterprise functions. Our work helps clients improve operational performance, accelerate innovation, and deliver measurable business and patient impact.
Location: New York or New Jersey. Onsite presence at Fractal offices and/or client sites, based on engagement needs.
Role Overview
Fractal is seeking a senior technology and AI leader to build and scale the AI Foundations (AIF) offering within our Healthcare & Life Sciences (HLS) practice. AIF is the engineering and platform backbone that makes enterprise AI work in production: modernized data and cloud estates, agentic and GenAI platforms, MCP and context layers, evaluation and trust frameworks, and AI-native engineering practices.
You will partner with HLS clients and Fractal’s engineering, cloud, and practice leaders to design, sell, and deliver these foundations at scale. Deep life sciences or healthcare domain experience is not required. Strength in AI, data, and cloud engineering leadership is.
Responsibilities
- Own the AIF offering for HLS. Define the strategy, reference architectures, and go-to-market for AI foundations across data and cloud modernization, agentic platforms, and AI-enabled engineering.
- Lead client-facing delivery and growth. Act as senior technical advisor to CIO, CTO, and CDO organizations, scoping and leading large AI foundation programs and expanding existing accounts.
- Drive AI-native engineering transformation. Embed AI tooling and agentic workflows across software, data, platform, and SRE functions to improve productivity, quality, and delivery velocity.
- Build production-grade AI systems. Oversee delivery of enterprise agentic platforms, MCP servers, context layers, evaluation frameworks, and governance and trust controls suited to regulated environments.
- Partner across Fractal. Work with the Cloud and Data Technology team, the HLS practice head, partnerships and alliances (Hyperscalers, Databricks), and India delivery teams to deliver end-to-end.
- Build and mentor teams. Recruit, coach, and lead global engineering teams, leading by influence across cross-functional groups.
- Support commercial motions. Contribute to proposals, executive presentations, and account plans, and be actively billable on select engagements.
- Manage delivery health. Own quality, utilization, margins, and client satisfaction for the programs you lead.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- 15+ years of experience in technology leadership across data, cloud, and AI engineering
- Proven record of leading enterprise AI, GenAI, or agentic programs from architecture through production
- Deep experience with cloud and data platforms (AWS, Azure, Databricks) and modern data and ML engineering
- Experience running large, multi-disciplinary, global delivery teams
- Credibility with senior technology executives, with hands-on experience in consultative selling, proposals, and executive presentations
- Strong communication skills and comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- Preferred: exposure to regulated industries (healthcare, pharma, financial services), but HLS domain experience is not required
