Location: Remote
Client: Northwell Health (via Ion Computer Systems)
Duration: June 22, 2026 – November 30, 2026
Type: Contract (Possible Extension)
About the Opportunity
Ion Computer Systems is seeking a Healthcare Integration Developer to support a major initiative with Northwell Health, New York’s largest healthcare provider and private employer. This role will focus on the design, development, and support of clinical and interoperability solutions within a highly scalable healthcare integration environment.
You will play a key role in building and maintaining mission-critical systems that support patient data exchange, clinical workflows, and interoperability across enterprise platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain internally developed healthcare software applications
- Write new programs and enhance or modify existing applications
- Develop and maintain integrations using:
- InterSystems Cache (MUMPS)
- ObjectScript
- Apply Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles to system design and development
- Build and support healthcare interfaces and integrations including:
- HL7 messaging
- IHE profiles
- CCD/CDA/CCDA document standards
- Work on API management and integrations across systems
- Perform unit testing, debugging, and ongoing maintenance of applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including clinical, infrastructure, and data teams
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with:
- InterSystems HealthShare
- InterSystems Ensemble
- InterSystems Cache
- Solid development experience in:
- Cache ObjectScript / MUMPS
- OOP design and development
- Healthcare integration expertise:
- HL7
- IHE
- CCD/CDA/CCDA
- Experience with API development and management
- Database experience:
- MySQL
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Familiarity with:
- LAMP Stack (PHP preferred)
- Cloud experience:
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in large healthcare environments or IDNs
- Knowledge of interoperability best practices and standards
- Experience working in regulated environments (HIPAA compliance)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
