Job Description
Position: Subject Matter Expert / AI Sector Evaluator - Retail (Independent Contractor)
Location: Remote within the U.S.
Employment Type: 1099 Contract (1-3 Months)
Job Summary We are looking for experienced Retail Subject Matter Experts to support an AI training and model development initiative. The ideal candidate will have strong retail domain expertise along with experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs). This is a fully remote independent contractor opportunity.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Retail Management, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, or a related field
- Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs)
- 5-10 years of experience in the retail industry (Merchandising, Operations, Category Management, Supply Chain, or E-commerce)
- Experience with performance & campaign analytics
- Inventory forecasting and replenishment
- Product content and merchandising optimization
- Brand and product creation
- Ability to translate business processes into structured data requirements
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of AI/ML concepts such as data annotation, prompt engineering, and model evaluation
- Experience with retail systems including ERP, POS, CRM, or inventory management platforms
