MERN Stack Developer — Website Maintenance
Experience: 2–3 years
About the role
We are looking for a MERN Stack Developer to maintain and improve an existing website built using MongoDB, Express.js, React.js and Node.js. You will keep the website running smoothly, resolve technical issues, make updates and improve its performance, security and user experience.
This role suits someone who is comfortable understanding an existing codebase and handling day-to-day website maintenance independently.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain the website’s React frontend, Node.js and Express.js backend, and MongoDB database.
- Identify and fix bugs, broken functionality, API errors and display issues.
- Update pages, forms, components and features based on business requirements.
- Ensure the website works well across mobile devices and major browsers.
- Monitor and improve page loading speed, API response times and database queries.
- Maintain integrations with third-party services and troubleshoot issues.
- Manage deployments, environment configurations and version control using Git.
- Monitor application errors, maintain backups and support recovery when needed.
- Add/edit new pages, product information on the site
Required skills
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience working with the MERN stack.
- Good understanding of JavaScript, HTML, CSS and responsive web development.
- Practical experience with React components, hooks and state management.
- Experience building and troubleshooting REST APIs using Node.js and Express.js.
- Working knowledge of MongoDB queries and database operations.
- Familiarity with Git and deploying web applications.
- Ability to read existing code, diagnose issues and implement reliable fixes.
- Clear communication, attention to detail and ownership of assigned tasks.
Good to have
- Experience maintaining a live production ecommerce website built with MERN stack.
- Familiarity with cloud hosting, server logs and basic Linux commands.
- Understanding of technical SEO and website performance optimisation.
- Experience with authentication, role-based access and automated testing.
Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
