Job Description
Executive & Personal Assistant to the Founder (Chief of Staff Track)
Tyler Chou Law for Creators & CreatorArq M&A Santa Monica, CA In person $30–$40/hour W-2 20+ hours/week, with opportunity to grow quickly into full-timePicture yourself joining MrBeast’s team. That’s the caliber I’m looking for.
Who you’re joining
I’m an attorney and entrepreneur working at the center of the creator economy. Through Tyler Chou Law for Creators, I represent YouTubers, creators, and creator-led businesses on deals, contracts, intellectual property, and the legal issues that come with building companies around an audience.
I also run CreatorArq M&A, where we work on acquisitions and exits involving creator businesses.
This means you’ll be sitting next to me while I negotiate deals, advise creators, build businesses, speak at creator conferences around the world, and manage the hundreds of details that come with all of it. You’ll have extraordinary visibility into how a fast-growing professional-services business actually operates.
I’m hiring my right hand. You will sit next to me, join my calls, and learn how I think. Every job I hire for is as big or as small as the person in it makes it.
Want to run my business for a day? You can.
I’m looking for what I call unicorn magic. You act like an owner. You move with urgency. Yes, this is a law firm, and I expect you to be precise and fast.
But we work at the speed of creators. When a client emails or texts, they expect an answer in 30 minutes or less.
What you’ll do
Whatever I need.
Some days that means preparing me for an important client meeting, coordinating travel, mapping out every person I should meet at the next creator conference I’m speaking at, and making sure every follow-up happens afterward.
Other days, it means handling personal logistics and errands that free me up to focus on the work only I can do.
No task is too small, but the ceiling is very high.
I’m the bottleneck. I need a second brain and a second Tyler to get everything done.
I come from the Hollywood model, where assistants are trained at agencies like CAA, WME, and UTA. You anticipate my needs before I think of them. You think several steps ahead, notice what is about to become a problem, and solve it before I have to ask.
I already have an EA who runs my inbox, calendar, and calls. You’ll fill the gaps wherever they show up.
Hours & growth
This is a W-2 hourly position with a guaranteed minimum of 20 hours per week to start.
For the right person, it could quickly grow into a full-time role. I’m looking for someone who wants to grow with me, take on more responsibility, and ultimately become capable of running significant parts of my world.
Where this goes
My chief of staff leaves for law school next fall. For the right person, this role is designed to be the training ground to step into that seat.
Who you are
You’ve worked in a fast-paced, high-trust environments with a lot of ambiguity where priorities shift quickly and good judgment matters.
Experience supporting a founder, entrepreneur, senior executive, or similarly demanding principal is a plus, but it’s not required. What matters most is that you’ve shown you can anticipate needs, handle sensitive information, keep many moving pieces organized, and take ownership without waiting to be told what to do.
You anticipate. I don’t want to ask. You see the problem coming and handle it before I know it exists.
You think several steps ahead. You have excellent judgment about what matters, what can wait, and where your attention will create the most leverage.
You’re willing to jump in wherever you’re needed. Whatever I can’t get to becomes yours—no task too big or too small. That’s what this chief of staff role requires: a jack of all trades. And that’s exactly what this role is training you to become.
You love the creator space and know who the YouTubers are.
You’re fascinated by how deals get made and how contracts work. Maybe you dream of law school someday. No legal experience needed.
You’re quick on your feet and calm under pressure.
You’re discreet. You’ll hear confidential client conversations, and you treat them that way. You’ll sign a confidentiality agreement.
You’re based in LA, have a reliable car, and are open to travel when I speak at creator conferences all over the world, plus the occasional evening or weekend.
Compensation
$30–$40/hour, depending on experience.
W-2, hourly, with overtime as applicable…
