Job Description
• $50–$90 per hour
• 100% remote
• Part-time
• 20 or more hours a week, you choose when
Work on the cutting edge of AI, on your own schedule, and get paid for the mechanical engineering expertise you already have.
The AI systems everyone is talking about learn from examples reviewed by real experts. The teams building them need mechanical engineers who can examine videos of robots, machines, tools and physical tasks, mark what objects do and how parts move, check whether those annotations are accurate, and explain when a scene or label is unclear. Your judgment helps AI understand the physical world and the way mechanical work happens over time. This is that work, done remotely, around your current job.
What you’ll do
• Review footage of robots working with machine parts, tools and equipment, including how their parts interact
• Label the objects, movements, actions and mechanical interactions shown as the footage progresses
• Check whether each annotation is accurate, consistent and complete, then compare it with project standards
• Identify labels that are wrong or hard to interpret, and provide direct feedback on challenging video cases
Why this is worth your time
• Get paid $50–$90 an hour to build real AI skills, on top of your current job
• Work directly with frontier AI tools and see how they are built, tested and improved, experience most mechanical engineers will not have for years
• Build a career edge for what comes next: AI is reshaping mechanical engineering, and the people who understand it from the inside will lead that change
• Fully remote and flexible, no fixed shifts, no commute
Who this is for
• Experience spanning at least two years in a related field, such as mechanical engineering, mechanical design, manufacturing or robotics
• Practical knowledge of how parts move and interact within physical systems, including mechanical components, tools and machines
• Good written English, strong attention to detail, and independent work from detailed instructions
• No AI experience needed. You bring the expertise; we bring the training on the tools.
Pay and details
• $50–$90 per hour, paid hourly as an independent contractor
• 20 or more hours a week, you choose when; fully remote, United States
