Job Description
• $70–$110 per hour
• 100% remote
• Part-time
• 20 or more hours a week, you choose when
Work on the cutting edge of AI inspection systems, on your own schedule, and get paid for the NDT expertise you already have.
The AI systems everyone is talking about are trained and tested by real inspection professionals. The teams building them need NDT experts to turn inspection cases into demanding evaluations, judge how well the AI interprets the results, write the disposition a qualified professional would give, and explain where the reasoning or recommendation falls short. Your judgment becomes part of how the next generation of AI systems handles inspection decisions. This is that work, done remotely around your current job.
What you’ll do
• Judge AI evaluations of radiographic and ultrasonic inspection results against applicable code criteria
• Review the AI’s handling of magnetic-particle and penetrant indications, including weld flaws
• Write the expert disposition for component conditions using code-based acceptance criteria
• Explain the reasoning behind findings and recommended actions in clear technical reports
Why this is worth your time
• Get paid $70–$110 an hour to build real AI skills, on top of your current job
• Work directly with frontier AI inspection tools and see how they are built, tested and improved, experience most NDT inspection professionals will not have for years
• Build a career edge for what comes next: AI is reshaping NDT inspection, and the professionals who understand it from the inside will lead that change
• Fully remote and flexible, no fixed shifts, no commute
Who this is for
• Active ASNT or ISO 9712 NDT Level II or Level III certification in relevant methods, such as RT, UT or PAUT, MT, or PT
• At least eight years interpreting radiographs, ultrasonic or phased-array scans, MT or PT indications, and related NDT data, with inspection experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, or power
• Strong written and verbal English, detailed technical documentation skills, and the ability to make code-based accept or reject decisions using ASME Sections V, VIII and XI, API 510, 570, 653 and 1104, and AWS D1.1
• No AI experience needed. You bring the expertise; we bring the training on the tools.
Pay and details
• $70–$110 per hour, paid hourly as an independent contractor
• 20 or more hours a week, you choose when; fully remote, United States
