Tax Manager – SMB – Remote – AI-driven Tax Firm

A VC-Backed, AI-driven tax platform is seeking a Manager to help oversee all aspects of their small business and partnership clients. Backed by leading operators from high-growth technology companies, this firm combines white-glove tax advisory services with proprietary AI-enabled software to deliver a modern, fixed-fee approach to tax compliance and planning.

With strong year-over-year growth, a rapidly expanding client base, and a dedicated engineering team building internal tools to streamline tax work, this is an opportunity to work at the intersection of tax, technology, and client advisory – with a focus on small business clients and their owners. This individual will handle strategic tax planning, retirement planning for business owners, entity structuring, PTET elections, among other tax planning items all while working directly with firm leadership.

Location: Fully Remote

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review S-Corporation and Partnership tax returns
• Handle more complex tax engagements and serve as the first level of review for team-prepared returns
• Work closely with firm leadership on tax planning and advisory initiatives
• Advise business owners on practical tax strategies, including:
• Entity structuring and cash balance strategizing
• Owner compensation planning
• Closely held business tax planning opportunities
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with entrepreneurial clients
• Collaborate with internal tax professionals and technology teams to improve efficiency and client service

Requirements

• Undergraduate/Master’s degree in Accounting or Tax
• 5+ years of Corporate Tax experience at a CPA firm with proven client management exposure
• CPA is a major plus
• Strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Team player and collaborator; excellent communications skills

Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 plus equity
