Job Description
Our client, a well known children’s apparel brand, is looking for a Technical Design Manager to join their team in New York!
Responsibilities:
- Lead technical design & development across global teams
- Drive cross-functional alignment to ensure product integrity from concept through production
- Lead innovation and develop solutions to resolve challenges within complex product development cycles
- Manage the rollout of new programs and retail partnerships, ensuring smooth integration into existing workflows
- Establish and implement SOPs and best practices across teams
- Lead process and system improvements that enhance efficiency
- Proactively identify and resolve issues in fit, fabric, and construction
- Evaluate textiles for performance and quality, while anticipating and resolving potential garment challenges
- Manage fittings, approvals, and overall quality standards
- Guide quality control efforts
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of Technical Design experience within kids apparel
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, Textile Engineering or equivalent
- Expertise in Children’s and Baby clothing, including fit, grading, and product integrity and safety
- Proficiency in 3D patternmaking
- Experience traveling to regional sourcing offices and/or factories to work with technical teams
