Vyril is an Australian sales and marketing company that works with businesses and brands across a variety of different industries - hospitality, real estate, recruitment, logistics, finance and many more! As our client work continues to grow, we’re building a network of creative assistants who can support us on real commercial content shoots

throughout Melbourne.

What makes this opportunity different?

You don’t need to be an experienced professional photographer or videographer.

We’re not looking for someone who already knows everything.

We’re looking for someone who is creative, curious, reliable and genuinely excited to learn.

You’ll have the unique opportunity to work alongside our esteemed Director, gaining first-hand exposure to how commercial content is planned, produced and captured for real businesses and brands.

You may get involved in:

• 📸 Commercial photography and content shoots
• 🎥 Videography and short-form video production
• 📱 Social media content and Reels
• 💡 Creative direction and content planning
• 🎬 Behind-the-scenes content
• 🤝 Working directly within professional client environments
• 🛠️ Supporting the lead photographer/videographer during production

You won’t be expected to lead a professional shoot independently. Instead, you’ll be supporting the lead creative team, getting hands-on experience and learning how the process works from the inside.

Who we’re looking for

This opportunity could be a great fit if you:

• Have a genuine passion for photography, videography, content creation or social media
• Enjoy creating Reels, TikToks, travel videos or other digital content
• Have an eye for visual storytelling and creativity
• Are keen to learn from experienced marketing and creative professionals
• Are reliable, organised and comfortable taking direction
• Enjoy working with people and adapting to different environments
• Are based in Melbourne or the surrounding metropolitan area
• Can travel to shoot locations, primarily around Melbourne CBD and metropolitan Melbourne

Formal qualifications or years of professional experience aren’t required.

You may be studying, building your creative skills independently, creating content as a hobby, or simply exploring where your interest in photography, videography or social media could take you.

The practical details

Location:

Melbourne, VIC

Engagement:

Ad hoc / project-based

Schedule:

Flexible (~4-6 projects annually)

Shoot locations:

Primarily Melbourne CBD and surrounding metropolitan areas

This is not a fixed full-time or part-time position

and there is no guaranteed weekly schedule.

Our client shoots are scheduled based on project requirements. This could mean a half-day or full-day shoot, several consecutive days on a larger project, or periods where there are no shoots scheduled.
