Director, AI Engineer (Remote Eligible)

For our client, we are seeking a Director, AI Engineer (Remote Eligible) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will shape the technical direction for AI solutions that support enterprise-scale financial services operations. You will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to design, deploy, and optimize AI software components that align with business strategy and regulatory expectations. The position also combines hands-on technical leadership with team development, helping build a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and execution excellence.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $244,700 – $279,200 annually

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop AI-driven products
• Lead the design and deployment of AI software components
• Evaluate technology options for AI tooling and solutions
• Innovate on optimization techniques for large-scale AI systems
• Define and execute the technical vision for AI initiatives
• Nurture talent and foster a culture of continuous learning
• Translate enterprise AI strategies into actionable execution plans

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field
• 6-8 years of experience in AI/ML development
• 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams
• 5+ years of experience with scalable AI solutions in cloud platforms
• Deep understanding of AI algorithms and software development
• Programming expertise
• Track record of managing AI projects in compliance with regulatory standards
