Senior Python Developer – Financial Services

Experience: 15+ Years

Location: New York City, NY – Hybrid

Work Schedule: 3 Days Onsite / Week

Duration: 2+ Year Contract

Local Requirement: Candidates must have recent project experience in the NY/NJ area

Required Technical Qualifications

Python & Application Development

• 10+ years of hands-on Python development.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software architecture, and design patterns.
• Experience with FastAPI, Flask, Django , or similar Python frameworks.
• Experience with asynchronous programming, multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization.
• Strong experience building enterprise applications and APIs.

API & Integration

• REST, GraphQL, OpenAPI/Swagger, gRPC.
• OAuth2, JWT, OpenID Connect, SAML, and secure API authentication.
• Experience integrating REST APIs, SOAP services, message queues, and event-driven systems.

Cloud & Infrastructure

• Hands-on experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform .
• Docker and Kubernetes.
• Microservices and containerized deployments.
• Terraform and infrastructure automation preferred.

Databases & Data

• Strong SQL skills.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Snowflake, MongoDB, or Redis.
• Experience developing data pipelines using Pandas, NumPy, PySpark, or Apache Spark.

Messaging & Distributed Systems

• Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, or comparable event-streaming technologies.
• Experience designing highly available and scalable distributed systems.

DevOps & Testing

• Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
• Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• PyTest, unit testing, integration testing, and API testing.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
