## About the Role

GeBBS Consulting is seeking an **AWS Cloud Engineer** to support an ongoing cloud migration initiative for healthcare clients across the United States. The project involves moving backend data connections from existing mainframe and on-premises databases to the cloud, migrating 2–3 applications, and supporting additional cloud adoption.

This is a **software engineering-focused** role centered on making existing on-premises applications cloud-ready. The position is not focused on DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or platform engineering. The successful candidate will bring strong AWS, EKS, and Kubernetes engineering experience and be comfortable working with cloud technologies such as Istio, Helm Charts, OAuth2, and JWT.

## Key Responsibilities

* Support the continuation of an ongoing AWS cloud migration initiative.

* Help migrate backend data connections from existing mainframe and on-premises databases to the cloud.

* Support the migration of 2–3 applications and additional cloud adoption efforts.

* Make existing on-premises applications cloud-ready.

* Apply AWS, EKS, and Kubernetes engineering expertise to cloud migration activities.

* Work with Istio and Helm Charts as part of cloud application engineering.

* Implement and work with OAuth2 and JWT.

* Contribute to software engineering activities supporting cloud migration.

* Collaborate within the project environment to support successful cloud adoption.

## Required Qualifications

* **8+ years of overall IT experience.**

* **3+ years of experience with AWS, EKS, and Kubernetes engineering.**

* Experience with **Istio**.

* Experience with **Helm Charts**.

* Experience with **OAuth2 and JWT**.

* Software engineering experience focused on making applications cloud-ready.

## Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with **Java development**.

* Experience working in an **Agile framework**.

* Any **AWS certification**.
