We’re looking for a Podcast Production Assistant to join our team and help us keep making original content. It’s a great way to start a career in podcasting, with hands-on training from people who do this every day.

About the role

You’ll work alongside our producers to help bring our shows to life each week. You’ll learn the art of audio and video editing to support our podcast producers, look after the studio and equipment, help on recording days, and get episodes out to listeners. You’ll take on more as your skills grow.

• Reporting to: Podcast Production Manager
• Location: Cremorne, Melbourne
• Type: Full time
• WFH split: 4 days in the office, 1 day at home
• Preferred commencement: November, 2026

Key responsibilities

Editing:

• Learn the art of audio and video editing to support our podcast producers
• Support producers during recordings
• Edit social cut-downs from full episodes for each platform
• Work up to completing audio and video podcast edits to the team’s standard
• Apply feedback from producers quickly and accurately
• Help meet the weekly production and publishing schedule

Studio and equipment:

• Coordinate and maintain tech equipment, including microphones, cameras, lighting and cabling
• Set up and pack down the studio for recordings
• Spot and fix equipment issues, or flag them early
• Keep equipment stocked, tidy and booked out correctly

Publishing and admin:

• Upload episodes and artwork and check they go live correctly
• Organise and name audio and video files
• Keep the recording and release calendar up to date
• Help book guests and studio time

Growing with the team:

• Researching topics and guests for the podcast team
• Take on more production work over time

What we’re looking for

• A love of podcasts and the conversations our audiences are having
• Curiosity and good instincts for what makes a story interesting, and for what to keep or cut
• A keen interest in learning audio and video editing, and the patience to get the small details right
• Comfort with technology and an interest in learning how our equipment works
• Strong attention to detail
• The ability to juggle a few things at once and hit deadlines
• Confidence in taking feedback and putting it into practice
• Strong initiative, and knowing when to ask for help
• A friendly, calm approach to working with the team
