Job Description
Data Protection & AI Governance Consultant
**Life Sciences RegTech Fully Remote EU Up to €60,000**I am supporting a specialist European RegTech consultancy that is looking to hire three additional consultants before the end of the year as they continue to expand their Data Protection and AI Governance practice.
The business operates differently from a traditional large consultancy or law firm. They are a specialist, hands-on team focused exclusively on the Life Sciences sector , supporting innovative organisations across Biotech, Pharma, MedTech, HealthTech, Clinical Research and Medical AI .
Rather than simply advising clients on regulation, the team works closely alongside their clients to implement and operate practical compliance frameworks , including acting as outsourced Data Protection Officers (DPOs) and AI Governance / Compliance Officers .
The Role
You will manage and support a portfolio of clients across Europe, helping organisations navigate increasingly complex requirements surrounding Data Protection, health data and Artificial Intelligence .
Depending on your experience, your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as an external DPO and trusted Data Protection advisor
- Supporting clients with GDPR and international Data Protection requirements
- Conducting DPIAs, privacy risk assessments and compliance reviews
- Developing Data Protection policies, processes and governance frameworks
- Advising on health data, clinical research and sensitive personal data
- Supporting vendor assessments, contractual reviews and international data transfers
- Developing and implementing AI Governance frameworks
- Supporting organisations with EU AI Act compliance
- Conducting AI risk assessments and supporting AI classification, documentation and governance
- Working with clients using AI across areas such as HealthTech, medical technology and clinical research
- Engaging directly with Legal, Compliance, Technology, Security and senior business stakeholders
The consultancy’s work is particularly focused on turning regulatory requirements into practical, operational and audit-ready compliance programmes , rather than providing purely theoretical advice.
Your Background
We are interested in speaking with professionals with experience across Data Protection, Privacy, GDPR, AI Governance or Technology Regulation .
Experience in Life Sciences is advantageous, particularly across Pharma, Biotech, MedTech, HealthTech or Clinical Research , but candidates with transferable Data Protection and AI Governance experience are also of interest.
Knowledge across areas such as GDPR, DPIAs, DPO responsibilities, EU AI Act, AI risk management, privacy governance and responsible AI would be highly relevant.
