Commercial Roofing Expert - Drone Imagery & AI Quality Review

Expected compensation: 35.00 USD Per Hour

HireArt is helping a leading AI technology company find experienced Commercial Roofing Experts - Drone Imagery & AI Quality Review to apply their professional roofing expertise to the review and quality assessment of commercial roof imagery captured by drones.

In this role, you’ll independently evaluate AI-generated outputs against drone imagery, identify inaccuracies, and label roofing data according to defined project specifications. Your expertise will help produce high-quality datasets used to improve AI model performance.

The ideal candidate has hands-on professional experience in commercial roof inspection, quality assurance, roof observation, consulting, or commercial roofing construction. You have strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems and installation practices, excellent attention to detail, and the professional judgment to assess roofing conditions and workmanship from visual information.

Please note: This position is project-based, with an expected task volume of approximately 20-40 hours per week. Hours and workload may vary based on project needs, timelines, priorities, task availability, and contractor availability. This remote position is available to U.S.-based candidates, excluding California, Illinois, Massachusetts, and New Jersey.

As a Commercial Roofing Expert- Drone Imagery & AI Quality Review, you’ll:

• Independently review drone imagery of commercial roofs and assess AI-generated results for accuracy.
• Identify and correct inaccurate or incomplete AI outputs using professional commercial roofing expertise.
• Label and annotate roof imagery according to defined project specifications and acceptance criteria.
• Apply professional judgment to identify relevant roofing features, conditions, workmanship issues, and other observable characteristics.
• Provide subject matter expertise when evaluating ambiguous or complex roofing scenarios.
• Review and correct submitted work as needed to meet project quality standards and acceptance criteria.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in commercial roof inspection, roofing quality assurance/quality control, roof observation, commercial roofing construction, or a closely related specialty
• Strong practical knowledge of commercial roofing systems, installation practices, and quality standards
• Ability to assess roofing conditions and workmanship from visual information and consistently apply professional judgment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify subtle discrepancies or quality concerns
• Comfort working with digital tools and reviewing imagery on a computer
• Ability to follow defined project specifications while independently applying subject matter expertise
• A recognized professional roofing credential or certification, such as Registered Roof Observer (RRO), Registered Roof Consultant (RRC), National Certified Roof Inspector (NCRI), NRCA PROCertified Roofing Foreman, or another relevant roofing inspection, consulting, or quality assurance certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience reviewing drone or aerial roof imagery

Commitment: *This is a part-time, 3-month independent contract position staffed via HireArt, with the potential for extension based on project needs and availability of work. It is remote and available to U.S.-based candidates, excluding California, Illinois, Massachusetts, and New Jersey.
