Duties

• Assist senior footwear designers in creating initial sketches and mood boards using graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
• Develop detailed design concepts through hand sketching and digital illustration, incorporating principles of color theory and artistic concept development
• Support the creation of technical CAD (Computer-Aided Design) drawings for prototypes and production specifications
• Collaborate with textile specialists to select appropriate fabrics, textiles, and materials that align with design visions and industrial standards
• Contribute to the development of 3D models and prototypes using 3D modeling software to visualize designs in real space
• Aid in the preparation of presentation boards, lookbooks, and product lifecycle documentation for internal review and client presentations
• Communicate effectively across cross-functional teams including merchandising, manufacturing, and retail to ensure seamless project execution
• Assist in trend research, market analysis, and fashion styling insights to inform innovative footwear concepts

Requirements

• A creative eye and a flair for color, texture, and patterns.
• Good drawing ability and CAD skills.
• Preferably PLM trained but not a must.
• Excellent time management skills, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills both verbally and through email.
• Very detail oriented and organized.
• Knowledge of the footwear market and its future trends, including evolving footwear technologies.
• Ability to work well in a team environment, able to not only lead but also collaborate.
• Skilled in using a Mac and computer drawing programs
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Preferably 3-5 years’ experience in Footwear design
• Full-time in office hours

Experience

• Proven experience or internship in footwear or fashion design, with a strong portfolio showcasing illustration, sketching, and graphic design skills
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), CAD software, and vector illustration tools
• Familiarity with textile applications in industrial design and garment construction techniques
• Knowledge of fashion retail trends, merchandising strategies, and product lifecycle management processes
• Experience with sewing machines, sewing techniques, or garment construction is a plus
• Ability to develop artistic concepts through illustration and digital rendering tools
• Strong cross-functional communication skills with an understanding of fashion styling and theater experience is advantageous
• Background in graphic design illustration, 3D modeling software, or professional art/design enhances your candidacy
