Job Description

About Beginning with Children

Beginning with Children Education Network (BwC) is a network of public charter schools founded over 30 years ago in Brooklyn, NY, committed to preparing students to thrive in college and beyond. Our schools (Beginning with Children Charter School 2, Community Partnership Charter School, and Community High School) serve students in grades K–12 and are grounded in the belief that all students deserve access to rigorous, student-centered, and joyful learning environments.

At BwC, we are deeply committed to equity, academic excellence, and strong relationships. We invite talented and innovative professionals to join us in our mission to provide quality education to every child in every classroom.

About Community High School

Community High School prepares students for college and careers through rigorous, Regents-aligned instruction and a focus on real-world learning. As a growing high school, we are building a dynamic, student-centered environment where academic excellence and strong relationships ensure students are prepared for success beyond high school.

Role Overview

Community High School is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Executive Assistant to the Principal to provide high-level administrative, operational, and organizational support to school leadership.

This role is essential to enabling the Principal to focus on instructional leadership, staff development, and school-wide strategy. The Executive Assistant will manage complex scheduling, coordinate communications and meetings, oversee administrative workflows, and ensure timely follow-through on key priorities.

A significant component of the position involves supporting data-informed decision-making by developing dashboards, analyzing school performance data, and translating student achievement, attendance, school culture, and operational metrics into clear, actionable summaries for the Principal and leadership team.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong independent judgment, exceptional discretion, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to anticipate needs while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced school environment.

Key Responsibilities

Executive and Administrative Support

  • Manage the Principal’s calendar independently, including proactively scheduling meetings, resolving conflicts, and prioritizing competing demands.
  • Anticipate the Principal’s needs and proactively identify upcoming deadlines, scheduling conflicts, and matters requiring attention.
  • Prepare, format, proofread, and finalize recurring and ad hoc reports, presentations, correspondence, and administrative materials.
  • Manage administrative workflows and ensure timely completion of tasks and deliverables.
  • Exercise sound independent judgment when handling competing priorities, routine inquiries, and sensitive matters.
  • Maintain organized records, documentation, and communication systems.

Data Management, Analysis, and Reporting

  • Develop, maintain, and regularly update dashboards that track key school performance indicators, including:
  • Student achievement (Regents, AP, CLEP, and interim assessments).
  • Student attendance and engagement.
  • School culture and related metrics.
  • Operational and budget performance.
  • Ensure data is accurate, current, organized, and accessible to school leadership.
  • Analyze trends, identify areas of concern, and prepare concise written summaries that translate data into actionable insights.
  • Highlight emerging patterns, flag potential challenges, and recommend next steps for the Principal’s consideration.
  • Prepare recurring data reports and visualizations to support leadership meetings, planning, and schoolwide decisionmaking.
  • Collaborate with relevant school and network teams to collect, organize, and validate information as needed.

Meeting Coordination and Follow-Through

  • Lead meeting preparation from start to finish, including developing agendas, coordinating schedules, and organizing relevant materials.
  • Attend meetings as needed to document key discussions, decisions, and action items.
  • Maintain organized records of meeting notes, assignments, and deadlines.
  • Independently track outstanding action items and follow up with responsible stakeholders to ensure completion.
  • Provide occasional support for board meeting preparation, including coordinating materials and related administrative logistics.
