Job Description
Job Role: Staff Agentic AI Engineer – Marketing
Duration: Full Time
Location: New York, NY · San Francisco, CA · Boston, MA · Miami, FL · Houston, TX · Dallas, TX · Austin, TX · Indianapolis, IN
About the Company:
Our client is a profitable, self-funded holding company that builds and operates expert-led businesses — firms where experienced professionals (fractional CFOs, lawyers, go-to-market strategists, brokers, and similar domain experts) sell their expertise to other businesses. The organization’s mission is to help these growth-minded operators adopt AI in a practical, client-centric way: rather than pushing a single product, it acts as a solution-agnostic partner, evaluating available AI tools and implementing whatever actually works for each expert’s business. A dedicated forward-deployed engineering function works directly with these expert-led businesses to design and deploy AI workflows that free up capacity, improve client service, and drive measurable outcomes.
The company operates several businesses under one umbrella, including a fractional-CFO practice and partnerships with lawyers, brokers, and other domain experts, with internally built tools and methods shared back across the group. Deliberately avoiding the venture-backed treadmill, leadership has built the organization around sustainability and long-term thinking — a culture centered on substance over self-promotion, real relationships over personal branding, and building something meaningful as a team rather than chasing hype.
Position Summary:
This is a hands-on, high-visibility role for someone who has personally built and deployed AI workflows or agents into real production use and wants to do it again — at a higher level of ownership. You will partner directly with the CEO and business leaders to identify high-impact opportunities across the company’s portfolio of expert-led businesses, and take those opportunities from discovery through build, testing, adoption, and handoff. You will work in an uncertain, fast-moving environment where the job is to turn ambiguous problems into working solutions with measurable outcomes, and to build the reusable playbook that lets the company scale its AI implementation practice over time.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner directly with the CEO and business leaders to understand expert workflows, identify high-impact opportunities, and translate them into practical, AI-powered implementations.
Own end-to-end implementations — from discovery and problem definition through build, testing, adoption, and handoff — ensuring users can operate workflows confidently.
Build and adapt AI tools, agents, and workflows using current platforms, collaborating with technical specialists when deeper engineering is required.
Rigorously test and validate implementations, checking inputs, permissions, reliability, failure cases, and where human judgment must remain in the loop.
Drive user adoption by teaching workflows, resolving friction, and verifying that another person can operate the solution with appropriate support.
Measure and report results honestly — agree on baselines, track what changed, and keep commitments, risks, and decisions visible to stakeholders.
Improve the implementation playbook by turning field experience into reusable methods and concrete product feedback that reduces the need for founder intervention over time.
Drive adoption and change management across multiple stakeholders and client engagements as scope expands.
Required Qualifications:
Roughly 3–6 years of experience in consulting, operations, product, implementation, or technical work.
Has personally built and deployed at least one AI workflow or agent into real, in-production use — not just a proof of concept.
Proficient with current AI/LLM platforms (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic), AI agent frameworks, and workflow automation tools.
Able to scope, build, test, and iterate practical AI workflows end-to-end.
Comfortable working directly with a CEO and domain experts in an uncertain, fast-moving environment.
Track record of turning ambiguous problems into working solutions with measurable outcomes.
Direct communicator who challenges assumptions with evidence and surfaces problems early.
Based in or near one of the preferred hub cities, or open to relocating / frequent client travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience driving adoption and change management across multiple stakeholders or client engagements.
