We build and operate the customer-facing digital platforms behind our retail banners loyalty and rewards APIs, customer profile and identity services,

promotions, and the auth layer that ties them together. You’ll own backend services from code through CI/CD, Kubernetes deployment, and production

operation.

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering, with strong, current C# / .NET (recent .NET versions; comfortable adopting new runtime releases).

• Deep, demonstrable command of async/await and concurrency you can explain and prevent thread-pool starvation, socket/HttpClient

exhaustion, deadlocks from sync-over-async, and exception propagation across async boundaries.

• Proven experience designing RESTful APIs with clean, layered/testable architecture (e.g., Clean Architecture, dependency injection, separation of

concerns).

• Strong automated testing practice — unit and integration tests, including testing code that depends on external services.

• Hands-on CI/CD experience (Azure DevOps or equivalent): YAML pipelines, templated builds, multi-environment promotion.

• Working knowledge of configuration and secrets management across environments.

Strongly preferred

• Azure platform experience — Azure Functions, Application Insights, Event Hubs, App Service/AKS.

• Event-driven / messaging design: triggers, retries, idempotency, and poison-message handling (Azure, or transferable experience such as AWS

Lambda/SQS).

• Kubernetes and service mesh (Istio), Helm charts, ingress/gateway routing, and health probes.

• CIAM / identity integration: OAuth2 token flows, MFA/TFA, and an identity provider (e.g., Gigya/SAP CDC, Okta, Auth0); API gateway/edge

experience (Apigee, Akamai).

• Observability tooling: Application Insights, AppDynamics, or Dynatrace — structured telemetry and distributed tracing.

• DevSecOps practices: SAST/dependency scanning (e.g., Wiz, Dependabot), CWE remediation, secure-by-default coding.
