Technical Architect AI Java

We are looking for a hands-on AI & Java Technical Architect with a strong Java engineering background and proven experience in AI-Native development. This role provides System/Application Architecture and technical leadership across multiple teams, driving the design and delivery of intelligent, scalable enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will define architectural roadmaps, guide teams in adopting AI-driven engineering practices, and ensure seamless integration of AI solutions into the business unit’s (BU) product suite of applications.

This role requires leveraging AI-Native and AI-Assisted development practices, with a strong focus on Spec-Driven Development (SDD).

Key responsibilities

• Define and develop System/Application Architecture for multiple projects, with an AI-first strategy.
• Own the architectural roadmap for existing and new applications, including technology upgrade and migration planning.
• Provide technical direction by leveraging a strong understanding of AI and Java technologies and how generative AI can help solve business challenges, and guide the team in implementing AI-driven automation.
• Architect and lead the design of complex systems using design patterns and best practices, with Behaviour- and Test-driven development (BDD/TDD) preferred.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management, Business Operations, Technical Leads, and Delivery Managers to define technical features and align automation goals with business priorities.
• Ensure strong collaboration with application development teams to seamlessly integrate AI and automation solutions into the BU’s product suite of applications, ensuring scalability and minimal disruption.
• Identify and resolve technical dependencies and risks, communicating issues to engineering and leadership in a timely manner.
• Drive stakeholder management and technical working groups, applying strong negotiation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Stay updated on the latest AI, automation, and technology trends to drive innovation and efficiency.

Key requirements

• 12+ years of overall IT experience, including hands-on System/Application Architecture experience and at least 4 years delivering AI solutions.
• Proven experience in building intelligent enterprise products using AI tools and technologies.
• Strong technical expertise in Core Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Microservices, Hibernate, and related frameworks.
• Experience in AI-Native and AI assisted development using SDD
• Hands-on experience with LLM architecture, prompt engineering, and agent frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph.
• Experience in building Agents, RAG, MCP tools, eval frameworks, Langfuse and other latest tools.
• Understanding of LLM cost optimization strategies (prompt caching, token batching, fallback models, prompt compression) and ability to manage trade-offs between model capability, latency, and operational cost
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code to accelerate delivery (ideation, coding, tests, documentation, research) while maintaining code quality, security, and correctness.
• Strong knowledge of security, networking, and infrastructure considerations in defining System/Application Architecture.
• Proficient with git flow, unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito), and code quality/security scanning tools such as SonarQube and Veracode.
• Strong understanding of how AI technologies and generative AI can help solve business challenges, with the ability to provide strategic direction to the team.
• Strong collaboration, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills, with experience working across cross-functional and globally distributed teams.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
