Job Description
Vice President of Product, Consumer Experience and AI Platform
A Place for Mom (APFM) NYC - Remote * Could be 100% remote of local to our NYC OfficeThe Role
A Place for Mom is the largest senior care marketplace in North America. Around 27 million people come to us each year at one of the hardest moments of their lives. We are hiring a Vice President of Product to be the single threaded owner of the demand side of this marketplace, end to end. Traffic, conversion, and the yield.
In this role you will own the family journey from first search to move in and beyond, and you will own the AI intelligence and orchestration engine that makes that journey work: the agents, the context and memory layer, the decision and routing intelligence, the conversational runtime, and the evaluation discipline that earns a family the right to trust it. This is a senior leadership role reporting to the Chief Product Officer.
Ownership: The Full Funnel
You own the funnel end to end. Below are the controllable inputs you and your team are accountable for, and the output you deliver on.
- Traffic and discovery. Organic search, answer engine and AI assistant presence, paid efficiency and mix, brand surfaces, content and in language coverage, partnership and syndication placement. You carry qualified session growth and our share of AI mediated discovery.
- Conversion. Registration and identity capture, intake and readiness qualification, conversational runtime across chat, voice and SMS, decision and routing accuracy, agent to human escalation, speed to first response. You own sessions to lead, lead to referral, referral to move in, and time to move in conversion.
- Monetization. Match and routing economics, yield per visit across the supply tiers, pricing surfaces that families see, post placement attach and the cross-product relationship.
- Intelligence and orchestration. Persona and context representation, the agent fleet and the orchestration layer that runs it, the decision engine, evaluation and safety, and the feedback loops that make every downstream system better. You carry routing and match quality, agentic coverage, safety posture, and platform adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the demand side Product. Set the funnel strategy, the input metric targets behind it, and the operating cadence that holds them. Own the vision, defend the tradeoffs, and run the weekly review where inputs are inspected before outputs are explained.
- Own the AI orchestration engine. This is the core of the job. Multi agent orchestration and the agent fleet, model orchestration and routing across a portfolio of models, tool and API calling, prompt and guardrail management, retrieval over a twenty-five-year domain corpus, cross session memory, and the feedback loops that close between every outcome and the next decision.
- Build the agentic family experience. Today a family fills in a form and waits. The destination is an agentic experience that understands the situation, does the work, and hands them to a human at exactly the right moment. You own that transition, including the coverage targets that come with it and the guarantee that quality and family outcomes hold as agentic share rises.
- Own context and memory. The context graph and the entity state that persists across sessions, surfaces and brands, so a family is recognized and understood on the second visit rather than re-interviewed. This is the substrate the rest of the platform is built on and the dependency most likely to gate everything else.
- Own decision and routing intelligence. The engine that matches family intent to the right recommendation, advisor and provider across markets, signals and constraints. Small movements in routing accuracy are worth more than most features in the roadmap, and you will be expected to know that number and move it.
- Make APFM AI callable, not just AI visible. The capability manifest, the MCP surface, attribution, and the partnership posture that makes us the senior care endpoint other assistants and agents reach for. Being cited is the floor. Being called is the position.
- Run the platform as a product. Provider and advisor product teams are your customers for shared AI services. You owe them a roadmap.
- Build the team. A senior product organization that holds consumer product judgment and applied AI credibility at the same time, and ships.
