Design Project Manager

Location: Pittsford, NY. On-site/Hybrid, with local project travel.

Salary: $85,000 to $105,000 (growth potential as our project list expands)

Schedule: Full-Time (Exempt)

Reports To: Vice President/President

DJCA Cornerstone LLC is a family-oriented firm offering exciting projects, a collaborative atmosphere, and real opportunities for career growth. For over 25 years, we’ve represented owners, not architects, not contractors, through every phase of a construction project, so our clients always have someone in their corner making sure the work gets done right, on time, and on budget. Our project list keeps growing, and it includes some of the region’s most visible work.

Position Summary

This role is design work first. We’re looking for a Design Project Manager who spends most of their time producing and developing architectural drawings, construction documents, and presentation materials in Revit and AutoCAD, then carries that design through to the job site to make sure it gets built the way it was drawn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and develop Revit-based construction documents, including layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches, and diagrams, with complete dimensions and technical information for construction.
  • Design and draw layouts for proposed architectural plan options; prepare presentation drawings and materials for client review.
  • Make drawing revisions, redlines, and specification updates as designs develop; support design development and supplemental design information for active projects.
  • Finalize proposed drawings by checking dimensions, materials, and how each part relates to the overall structure of the project.
  • Review product submissions, shop drawings, and cost estimates; coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to verify specifications and design data.
  • Track submittals, RFIs, and approvals through to resolution.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and field verification, documenting quality, code compliance, safety, and progress to inform ongoing design decisions.
  • Coordinate and lead project meetings; manage communications and action items.
  • Assist with permitting across local, state, and federal jurisdictions.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly project updates with progress photos.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Drafting, Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in architectural design, drafting, or construction project management.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, plus Microsoft Office and MS Project.
  • Solid understanding of drafting techniques, construction terminology, and general building code.
  • Valid New York State driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with owner’s representation or construction administration is a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Regular field work, including site visits over uneven terrain and in variable weather, plus occasional lifting up to 25 to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional travel and irregular hours around project milestones.

Why Join DJCA Cornerstone

  • Family-oriented culture with mutual respect and teamwork.
  • A seat on some of Rochester’s most visible projects.
  • Real autonomy in your role, with a clear path for growth as our project list expands.

DJCA Cornerstone LLC and its subsidiaries are committed to creating a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
