Location: New York City – Hybrid, minimum 2 days/week onsite

** Offices also in Seattle and San Francisco Bay Areas **

Duration: 6 months initially, with potential for extension

Pay: $85–$105/hour, based on experience

LOD is seeking an experienced Technology & AI Export Controls Attorney to support a rapidly growing global AI infrastructure company from its New York City office. This role will focus on U.S. export control requirements affecting AI technology, advanced computing infrastructure, hardware, software, technical data, and cross-border technology activities.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience with EAR/BIS requirements and a background advising technology companies or other sophisticated global businesses. Experience involving AI, semiconductors, advanced computing, cloud infrastructure, data centers, or hyperscalers is particularly relevant.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of legal experience, including significant experience advising on U.S. export controls.
• Strong knowledge of EAR/BIS requirements and related U.S. trade compliance laws.
• Experience advising technology, AI, semiconductor, advanced computing, cloud infrastructure, data center, or hyperscaler businesses is strongly preferred.
• Law firm and/or sophisticated in-house experience involving complex technology and international operations.
• Ability to work independently and provide practical, business-focused advice in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be located in or within commuting distance of New York City and available to work onsite at least two days per week.

This is an initial six-month engagement with the potential for extension.
