Senior Manager, Data & AI Architect (Remote)

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Manager, Data & AI Architect (Remote) to join the team of a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space.

This role will shape enterprise data architecture strategy and guide the design of scalable, analytics-ready environments that support business decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience architecting modern data platforms, with a strong emphasis on cloud data engineering, governance, and integration across complex enterprise systems. You will partner closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to define standards, enable consistent analytics, and improve how data is modeled and delivered across the organization.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $132,400 – $251,600 annually

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable enterprise data architectures based on Databricks
• Establish Medallion Architecture patterns for data layers
• Develop and integrate semantic layers for consistent analytics across systems
• Create integrated data models for consolidated, analytics-ready data
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and transformation logic
• Ensure compliance with data quality standards and governance guidelines
• Mentor data engineering teams and provide technical leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Engineering, or a related field with required experience
• 10+ years of applicable work experience, or 7+ years with an advanced degree
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks and Lakehouse architecture solutions
• In-depth knowledge of Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers)
• Proficiency in Apache Spark, PySpark, and SQL for data processing
• Experience in designing data models for integration of SAP ECC to S/4HANA
• Understanding of data governance and architecture best practices
