Job Description
• $140–$400 per hour
• 100% remote
• Part-time
• 20 or more hours a week, you choose when
Work on the cutting edge of legal AI, on your own schedule, and get paid for the civil rights expertise you already have.
The AI systems everyone is talking about are trained and tested by real legal experts. The teams building them need civil rights attorneys who can create realistic legal scenarios, judge whether AI answers are accurate and ethically sound, write the response a practicing attorney would give, and explain exactly where the answer falls short. Your judgment helps shape the next generation of AI systems that handle complex legal questions. This is that work, done remotely around your current practice.
What you’ll do
• Examine legal documents and civil rights case studies, adding annotations that capture the relevant issues
• Build realistic civil rights scenarios, user questions, and attorney-level legal responses
• Assess AI-generated legal answers and explain clearly what needs improvement
• Track developments in civil rights case law, policy, and emerging trends, then summarize what matters
Why this is worth your time
• Get paid $140–$400 an hour to build real AI skills, on top of your current job
• Work directly with frontier legal AI tools and see how they are built, tested and improved, experience most civil rights attorneys will not have for years
• Build a career edge for what comes next: AI is reshaping civil rights law, and the attorneys who understand it from the inside will lead that change
• Fully remote, fully flexible, no fixed shifts, no commute
Who this is for
• Juris Doctor degree and an active United States bar admission
• Substantial experience practicing civil rights law, with litigation or policy analysis
• Strong legal research and statutory interpretation skills, and clear written and spoken English
• No AI experience needed. You bring the expertise; we bring the training on the tools.
Pay and details
• $140–$400 per hour, paid hourly as an independent contractor
• 20 or more hours a week, you choose when; fully remote, United States
