Job Description
• $140–$400 per hour
• 100% remote
• Part-time
• 20 or more hours a week, you choose when
Work on the cutting edge of legal AI, on your own schedule, and get paid for the criminal-law expertise you already have.
The AI systems everyone is talking about are trained and tested by real criminal law attorneys. The teams building them need attorneys to work through case files and court filings, create realistic scenarios and arguments drawn from criminal practice, judge whether the legal writing the AI produces is correct and ethically sound, and pinpoint what it gets wrong. Their judgment helps shape the next generation of AI models for specialized legal work. This work can be done remotely alongside your current practice.
What you’ll do
• Review case files, court filings and other legal documents for accuracy and relevance to criminal practice
• Write, revise, and mark up scenarios, arguments, and opinions grounded in criminal practice
• Check AI-produced legal writing for correctness, clear reasoning, and ethical soundness
• Give clear written and spoken feedback on where the AI’s answers fall short and how to fix them
Why this is worth your time
• Get paid $140–$400 an hour to build real AI skills, on top of your current job
• Work directly with frontier legal AI tools and see how they are built, tested and improved, experience most criminal law attorneys will not have for years
• Build a career edge for what comes next: AI is reshaping criminal law, and the attorneys who understand it from the inside will lead that change
• Fully remote and flexible, no fixed shifts, no commute
Who this is for
• Licensed to practice law, with proven expertise in criminal law and procedure
• Extensive hands-on experience in criminal cases, as a prosecutor or as defense counsel
• Clear, precise written and spoken English, and the ability to explain complex legal concepts in plain language
• Experience reviewing and summarizing case files and other legal documents, with close attention to detail and sound ethical judgment
• No AI experience needed. You bring the expertise; we bring the training on the tools.
Pay and details
• $140–$400 per hour, paid hourly as an independent contractor
• 20 or more hours a week, you choose when; fully remote, United States
