Location: New York City, NY

Work Arrangement: Hybrid, 3 days per week onsite

Compensation: $210,000 - $280,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus RSUs

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software/AI Engineer to join our engineering team in New York City.

This is a highly hands-on role combining core product development, applied AI engineering, and customer-facing technical work . You will contribute directly to the development of our core platform while also working with customers to understand their workflows, solve complex technical problems, and help translate real-world use cases into product capabilities.

The ideal candidate is a strong software engineer who has experience building production applications with technologies such as Python, Django, JavaScript, and AWS , along with practical experience working with LLMs, generative AI, or related AI technologies .

You do not need to come from a traditional ML research background. We are particularly interested in engineers who can take AI capabilities and turn them into reliable, production-ready software.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain production features across our core software platform.
• Develop backend services and APIs using Python and Django , while contributing to frontend and full-stack functionality where appropriate.
• Build and integrate AI-powered functionality using LLMs, generative AI, agentic systems, or related technologies .
• Work with AWS and cloud-based infrastructure to deploy, operate, and scale production applications.
• Translate ambiguous technical and business requirements into practical software solutions.
• Work directly with customers and internal stakeholders to understand technical requirements, workflows, and challenges.
• Prototype solutions quickly, validate them with customers, and turn successful concepts into scalable product capabilities.
• Integrate third-party APIs, data sources, and enterprise systems into the platform.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues across application, infrastructure, data, and AI layers.
• Contribute to system architecture, engineering standards, testing, observability, and overall product quality.
• Partner closely with product, engineering, and leadership to shape the technical direction of the platform.
• Help establish best practices around incorporating AI capabilities into production software.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong experience building production applications.
• Strong proficiency with Python and experience with frameworks such as Django .
• Experience developing web applications and APIs using JavaScript/TypeScript or similar technologies.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and modern cloud infrastructure.
• Practical experience working with LLMs, generative AI, AI APIs, RAG, AI agents, prompt engineering, or related technologies .
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including APIs, databases, distributed systems, testing, and system design.
• Experience taking projects from initial concept through production deployment.
• Comfortable working in an environment where requirements can evolve quickly and engineers are expected to operate with a high degree of ownership.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with customers or other non-engineering stakeholders.
• Ability to understand a customer’s underlying problem rather than simply implementing a predefined specification.
• A product-oriented mindset and interest in building technology that has a direct impact on users.
