AI Trainer, Video Narrator

Overview

You film a hobby or trade you already do, and you get paid for it.

We’re looking for people with clear, fluent English to record first-person video with a smartphone on a head mount, saying out loud what you did after each step. AI and robotics research teams use these videos to learn how people use their hands. No filming experience needed. No script, no acting, no editing.

Examples

• At home: gardening, woodworking, home repairs, bike repair, sewing, knitting or crochet, drawing, painting, model building, makeup, playing an instrument, PC games.
• At work, if you already work there: auto shop, warehouse, café, commercial kitchen, lab, construction site.
• 44 task types in total. You’ll get the full list and instructions when you start.

How it works

• Pick a task you already know how to do.
• Put your phone in a head mount, sideways, so the camera sees your hands.
• Do a step, pause, and say what you just did: which hand, which tool, what it touched. Talk as if you’re explaining it to someone who can’t see. Then the next step.
• Record 5 to 10 minutes, then upload it. We’ll send you the upload steps when you start.
• You can record more than one video, a different task each time.
• The camera points at your hands, so your face isn’t in the video.

Pay

• Piece rate, paid by the hour of approved footage: $60 per hour, which is $10 per 10-minute video.
• Independent contractor. No benefits.

Requirements

• Clear, fluent spoken English. Accents are welcome.
• A compatible phone: iPhone 11 through 17 (not 16e or 17e), Pixel 6 through 9, or Galaxy S21 through S24.
• A head mount for your phone that leaves both hands free.
• 18 or older, living in the US, and able to work as an independent contractor.
