Job Description
Machine Learning Scientist
Post-Training & Life Sciences
Kadence is partnered with an AI x Bio company that is hiring a hands-on Machine Learning Scientist/Founding Researcher to build and improve models for life-sciences applications.
The Role
- Fine-tune open-source models using SFT, DPO, RLHF, GRPO or related methods.
- Build training datasets, reward signals and evaluation frameworks.
- Apply machine learning to complex biological and scientific data.
- Own projects from initial requirements through experimentation and delivery.
- Work closely with researchers, leadership and external stakeholders.
- Help shape the modeling strategy within a small technical team.
Requirements
- Strong Python and PyTorch experience.
- Proven experience training or post-training deep-learning models.
- Some background in biology, biotechnology, healthcare research or a related scientific field.
- Strong experimental judgment and model-evaluation skills.
- Ability to independently deliver technically ambiguous projects.
- Computational biology or bioinformatics experience is particularly valuable.
- A PhD is welcomed but not required.
Location and Compensation
- New York City, four days per week on-site.
- Relocation considered.
- $200,000–$300,000 base salary plus equity.
