AI Software Engineering Manager (Python/AI/LLMS)

Our client is seeking an AI Software Engineer Manager to help lead the development of a greenfield AI platform that will serve as a centralized intelligence layer across a large ecosystem of digital products. This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced engineering manager with expertise in AI/LLM technologies, Python development, and cloud-native architectures.

Job Title: AI Software Engineer Manager (LLM / AI Platform)

Salary: $170,000 - $200,000 Base + 15% Bonus

Location: Hoboken, NJ (Hybrid | 2-3 Days Per Week Onsite)

Required Skills & Experience

• 5-10 years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years of engineering management experience.
• Strong backend development experience with Python.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications in production.
• Experience with agentic AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar.
• Strong experience with AWS, distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-native architecture.
• Experience building and scaling SaaS applications in either B2B or large-scale consumer environments.
• Proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
• Ability to remain hands-on with architecture, system design, and development (approximately 30% coding).
• Experience driving technical strategy, platform roadmap initiatives, and engineering best practices.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing distributed or offshore engineering teams.
• Experience scaling engineering organizations and hiring technical talent.
• Exposure to high-scale consumer or enterprise software platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
