Senior AI Security & Governance Engineer - Fractional SME

About the Role

Invotech Services is looking for a Senior AI Security & Governance Engineer to help design, implement, and maintain security and governance frameworks for AI/ML systems and applications.

This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can translate AI security and governance requirements into practical technical controls, processes, and engineering solutions & training.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, train, and implement AI/ML security and governance frameworks, policies, standards, and controls.
• Provide guidance to engineering and business teams on Responsible AI, privacy, security, and governance practices.
• Identify and mitigate security risks associated with Generative AI, LLMs, ML models, AI agents, APIs, and AI-enabled applications.
• Conduct AI security and risk assessments covering areas such as:
• Prompt injection and jailbreaks
• Data leakage and privacy risks
• Model and supply-chain security
• Adversarial attacks
• Unauthorized model/API access
• Model misuse and abuse
• Third-party AI risks
• Establish governance processes covering the AI lifecycle — from design and development through deployment, monitoring, and retirement.
• Define and implement controls for AI data security, access management, model security, logging, monitoring, and incident response.
• Maintain governance documentation, risk registers, policies, standards, and control matrices.
• Participate in security reviews, audits, risk assessments, and architecture reviews.
• Work with security teams to develop AI-specific threat models, security testing methodologies, and incident-response procedures.

Required Qualifications

6+ years of experience in Cybersecurity, Information Security, AI/ML Security, Security Engineering, Risk & Compliance, or a related field.

3+ years of hands-on experience with AI/ML security, AI governance, cloud security, or security architecture.

Strong understanding of Generative AI, LLMs, ML models, AI agents, APIs, and AI application architectures.
