  • Full-Time

Job Description

Own the architecture behind a new generation of Azure-native AI and agentic systems, fully remote from anywhere in the United States. Up to $180,000 + bonus

  • United States
  • Remote
  • Minimum 8 years
  • Full time

THE MANDATE On behalf of a confidential client building intelligent products at scale, Larouche Raymond is seeking a hands-on Azure Software Architect to define how large language models, agent frameworks, and cloud services come together into production-grade platforms. This is a senior, high-autonomy role for a technologist who still loves to design, prototype, and ship. You will set the technical direction, mentor engineering teams, and make the calls that keep AI systems reliable, secure, and cost-effective.

THE ROLE DAY TO DAY

  • Design end-to-end architecture for Azure-hosted AI platforms, including agentic and multi-agent orchestration patterns.
  • Lead solution design around Azure OpenAI, AI Foundry, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and vector search.
  • Define standards for prompt orchestration, tool calling, memory, and guardrails across agent workflows.
  • Architect scalable microservices using AKS, Azure Functions, API Management, and event-driven messaging.
  • Establish patterns for security, identity, observability, evaluation, and responsible-AI governance.
  • Partner with product and data teams to translate business goals into pragmatic technical roadmaps.
  • Own cost, latency, and reliability trade-offs for LLM inference and vector workloads at scale.
  • Mentor senior and staff engineers through design reviews, proofs of concept, and reference implementations.

THE IDEAL PROFILE

  • Minimum 8 years in software engineering and architecture, with recent hands-on cloud delivery.
  • Deep expertise across the Azure platform: compute, networking, identity, data, and AI services.
  • Proven experience architecting LLM or agentic systems in production, not just prototypes.
  • Strong command of at least one of C#/.NET, Python, or TypeScript, along with modern API design.
  • Fluency with containers, Kubernetes (AKS), CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
  • Solid grasp of RAG, embeddings, evaluation, and AI safety and guardrail practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, with Azure certifications a strong asset; excellent written and spoken English, able to influence technical and executive audiences.

Key skills: Azure architecture, Azure OpenAI, AI Foundry, agentic and multi-agent orchestration, RAG and vector search, microservices and Kubernetes (AKS), Azure Functions and API Management, event-driven messaging, C#/.NET, Python, TypeScript, CI/CD and infrastructure as code, responsible-AI governance.

What Our Client Offers

  • Compensation of up to $180,000, plus a performance bonus.
  • A 100% remote role, open to candidates across the United States.
  • A genuine architect mandate with real influence over the AI technology stack.
  • Work at the frontier of applied generative AI and agentic systems.
  • Support for certifications, conferences, and ongoing technical growth.
  • A collaborative senior team that values pragmatism and craftsmanship.
