Microsoft Azure / Entra ID Administrator (Contract, Short-Term)

Home ReProject is looking for an experienced Microsoft Azure and Entra ID (Azure AD) administrator to help us regain access to our Azure environment and fix a tenant/directory mix-up.

The problem

Our Azure subscription is active and still billing, but we can’t reach it. A user account that used to access our original tenant now signs in to a different directory, and the tenant we originally used no longer appears under “Switch directory.” Trying to open the subscription directly returns a 401 / “You don’t have access” error. We need to find out which Entra tenant owns the subscription and restore proper access.

Responsibilities

• Investigate which Microsoft Entra tenant currently owns our Azure subscription
• Diagnose why the user account resolves to the wrong directory
• Restore access to the existing subscription and resources for the correct accounts
• Work with Microsoft support or billing where needed
• Fix account, role, and directory associations, and advise on how to prevent this in the future
• Document what happened and the fix

Requirements

• Proven experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) administration
• Strong knowledge of tenant/directory relationships, subscription ownership, RBAC, and guest/B2B accounts
• Experience recovering access to orphaned or inaccessible subscriptions
• Familiarity with transferring or associating subscriptions between tenants
• Experience working with Microsoft Support on billing or access issues
• Clear communication and the ability to explain findings to non-technical staff

Nice to have

• Microsoft certifications (AZ-104, AZ-500, SC-300, or similar)
• Microsoft 365 administration experience

Important constraints

• We do not want to create a new subscription or move or delete any resources until the root cause is understood.
• The work is time-sensitive.

Compensation: $50-$65/hour
