Remote Power BI Developer

Location Remote (Must be currently located in Colorado)

Job Type: 9 - month contract

One of Insight Globals SLED clients is seeking an experienced Power BI Developer to support enterprise-wide reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives. This individual will work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, identify and integrate data from multiple sources, and develop scalable Power BI solutions that provide meaningful and actionable insights. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, DAX development, dashboard creation, and Power BI administration, with the ability to build and optimize end-to-end reporting solutions. This role will be responsible for creating reusable semantic models, delivering high-performing reports and visualizations, managing deployments within Power BI Service, and ensuring data is secure, accurate, and accessible to end users. Experience working with diverse data sources, large datasets, and modern analytics tools is critical for success.

This is a remote 9 month contract with likely extensions. Must live in Colorado. This position is offering a pay range of $45-$50/hr. If interested please apply!

Required Skills

  • Strong Power BI development experience, including report and dashboard creation
  • Advanced data modeling experience, including reusable Power BI semantic models and row-level security
  • Expertise writing complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and custom calculations
  • Experience connecting Power BI to multiple data sources (SQL, APIs, Excel, BigQuery, ArcGIS, etc.)
  • Experience deploying and managing solutions in Power BI Service, including refresh schedules, security, and performance optimization

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with Tabular Editor and Best Practice Analyzer
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, source control, and Power BI deployment processes
  • Experience working with ArcGIS visuals and geospatial reporting
  • Familiarity with AI tools and AI-assisted analytics workflows
  • Experience working with streaming or real-time datasets
