Job Description
Hi-Tech Electric Company is seeking an experienced Project Manager to help lead commercial, industrial, institutional, and service-related electrical projects across our growing organization. This is a key leadership role for someone who understands construction, communicates well with field teams and clients, and knows how to move a project from turnover to closeout with safety, quality, and accountability at the center of every decision.
For more than 40 years, Hi-Tech Electric has built a reputation as a trusted electrical contractor serving Southern Michigan, Northern Indiana, and Southern Florida. We are an electrical contractor with strong field leadership, experienced project teams, and a company culture built around Safety, Professionalism, Accountability, Respect, and Quality.
The right candidate will be comfortable managing people, schedules, budgets, subcontractors, vendors, change orders, project documentation, and customer expectations. This position requires someone who can work closely with estimators, foremen, general contractors, owners, vendors, safety professionals, and company leadership to deliver successful electrical projects.
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, budgeting, and overseeing electrical construction projects from turnover through final completion. Responsibilities may include:
- Manage assigned electrical construction projects from preconstruction handoff through closeout.
- Review estimates, contracts, drawings, specifications, schedules, submittals, RFIs, and project documents.
- Work with field leadership to develop manpower plans, project schedules, material needs, equipment needs, and installation strategies.
- Coordinate with general contractors, owners, engineers, vendors, subcontractors, inspectors, and internal team members.
- Track project budgets, labor productivity, committed costs, change orders, billings, and financial performance.
- Identify scope gaps, project risks, conflicts, delays, and opportunities for improvement early in the process.
- Lead project meetings and communicate clearly with customers, field crews, and company leadership.
- Support a strong safety culture and ensure company safety expectations are followed on every project.
- Review and manage submittals, procurement logs, long-lead items, project documentation, and closeout requirements.
- Prepare, price, submit, and manage change orders in a timely and professional manner.
- Build strong relationships with customers by being responsive, organized, honest, and solution-oriented.
- Help support prefabrication, planning, scheduling, quality control, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Mentor assistant project managers, coordinators, interns, and developing team members when applicable.
