Network Security Engineer

We are supporting a live requirement for a hands-on Network Security Engineer to join a major financial services environment in the NYC / Jersey City area.

This is a production network security engineering role, focused on supporting critical firewall, proxy, DNS and load-balancing infrastructure. The role is not suited to a general network engineer, cloud engineer, NOC profile, or high-level architect who is no longer hands-on.

Strict Criteria

Candidates must have recent, hands-on experience across most of the following:

• Check Point firewall administration, including policies, NAT, VPNs, rule changes and troubleshooting
• Fortinet / FortiGate administration, including FortiManager / FortiAnalyzer where possible
• F5 LTM / GTM operational support, including virtual servers, pools, health monitors, SSL offload and load-balancing troubleshooting
• DNS / DHCP / IPAM, ideally with direct Infoblox administration
• Enterprise proxy experience, ideally Blue Coat and/or McAfee
• Genuine L3 / L4 production support experience in a large enterprise environment
• Controlled production changes, change windows, implementation plans, rollback steps and post-change validation
• Incident handling, RCA, technical documentation and stakeholder updates
• Strong troubleshooting across TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, proxies, DNS, load balancers and application connectivity

Preferred Background

• Financial services, banking or highly regulated enterprise environment
• Comfortable working in a structured BAU support model
• Able to support critical production infrastructure rather than just project delivery
• Strong communication skills and able to explain technical issues clearly

Location / Package

• Location: NYC / Jersey City area
• Working pattern: Hybrid, typically 3 days per week onsite
• Salary: $125k–$170k base + benefits
• Work authorization: US Citizen / Green Card required

Not Suitable For

• General network engineers without recent security infrastructure ownership
• Candidates with only light exposure to Check Point, Fortinet or F5
• Pure architecture / design profiles who are not hands-on
• Cloud-only security engineers without enterprise firewall / proxy / DNS / load-balancing experience
• Candidates unable to work onsite in the NYC / Jersey City area

Pay: $130,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
